Kalikasan, Pangalagaan

Bago ang  lahat kasamang Leny,   tayo ay pansamantalang munang magnilay-nilay kahit ilang sandali at humingi ng kapahintulutan sa Poong Maykapal o Sa Allah na bigyan tayo ng lakas at kapahintulutan na mapag-usapan natin ang kanyang biyaya sa tao….   ang kalikasan. 

At tayo’y magpasalamat sa kalikasan, lalo na sa mga puno, pagkat sa kanila nanggaling ang mga papel na ginagawang sulatan at aklat. Kung wala ang mga puno, tiyak na wala tayong binabasang mga aklat ang ating mga guro at estudyante, magasin at mga pahayagan.

Pagpugayan din natin ang mga kababayang nagsakripisyo’t nagpakasakit, lalo na ang mga environmental activists at advocates sa kanilang walang sawang pagtutok at pagkilos upang ang ating kalikasan ay maging maayos.

Pagpugayan din natin ang ating local na pamahalaan ng Upi sa pagpasa ng batas na Municipal Ordinance #3 Comprehensive  Ecologiocal Solid Waste Management, dahil sa batas na ito ay natuto ang mga mamayan ng Upi na pahalagahan ang ating kalikasan at kapaligiran.

Napakahalaga ng mga isyung pangkalikasan na karaniwang hindi nabibigyang-pansin ng ibang ibang  media,  ng karamihan sa opisyal ng  gobyerno,  ng mga eskwelahan o ng akademya, maliban na lang kung may trahedyang naganap at saka lang sila nagsasalita at gumagalaw..

Bakit?  Dahil ba wala silang pakialam o dahil hindi nila alam ang isyu.

Alam mo Len? Kong minsan nga ay nagtataka ako, dahil marami sa atin, bata pa lang ay tinuruan naman sa sa paaralan ng simpleng pagtatapon ng basura sa tamang basurahan, kaya lang ang tanong tama ba ba ang ginagawa natin noon na itapon sa dumping pit ang ating mga basura?.

Ngunit nang lumaki na tayo, nalimutan na ito. Kung saan-saan itinatapon ang basura. Ang balat ng kendi, na hindi naman basura hangga’t hindi pa lumalapat sa basurahan, ay agad pinandidirihan. Itinatapon agad kung saan-saan, at ayaw munang ibalik sa bulsa hanggang sa makakita ng basurahan.

Isang panibagong karanasan ang ating  natutunan sa Ordinance #3 o COMPREHENSIVE ECOLOGICAL SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT, may nagbabantay nandiyan ang mga EnforcerS, andiyan ang street sweeperS at garbage technicianS, araw-araw ay nanagbabantay, nagwawalis at humahakot ng basura.

Ngunit  kahit marahil   araw-araw, 365 araw bawat taon, 7 araw bawat linggo, 24 oras bawat araw, ang gagawing paglilinis at paghahakot ng   mga basura sa karagatan , hindi pa rin ito mauubos, yes I know, bagamat unti-unti itong mababawasan. Alam nyo ba kung bakit? Dahil habang nililinis natin ang kapaligiran, tuluy-tuloy pa rin ang pagtatapon ng basura ng marami kong saan-saan. Habang nagbabawas tayo, makailang beses ang nadadagdag.. Dapat mapigilan ang pagtatapon ng basura sa mga ilog at kanal sa pamamagitan ng iba’t ibang paraan, tulad ng eco-mercials (ecology commercials), media, forum, edukasyon sa bawat barangay, atbp.
 

Dagdag pa rito, isa sa mga natutunan ko sa mga pagdalo sa mga forum, natutuhan ko doon na  na bawal magsunog ng basura dahil nagdudulot ito ng sakit at pagkawasak ng kalikasan.

Bilang nagsisimulang  manunulat sa isang sa blog (salamat sa MindaNews sa seminar sa amin ng Grassroots Journalism) at bilang media man, naipangako ko sa sarili na ipinalaganap ko sa iba’t ibang komunidad lalo na sa Upi na bawal magsunog ng basura.  

At alam mo ba Len? Aba’y marami ang tumalima, nakikinig at di  ko lang alam kong maging bahagi na ng kanilang buhay na isagawa ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan. Marami na sa kanila ang di na nagsusunog ng basura. Kaya napakahalaga ng pagbibigay ng impormasyon ukol sa kalikasan. Dapat ang pagbibigay ng information ng LGU Upi ay  tuloy-tuloy at iba pang samahang makakalikasan upang tuluy-tuloy ang pangangalaga sa ating kapaligiran.

Kung ating pagninilayan, alam nating lahat na bago pa tayo mabuhay sa mundo, nariyan na ang kalikasan. Nariyan ang dagat, lupa, hangin, atbp. Halos lahat ng ginagamit natin sa araw-araw ay mula sa kalikasan.

Sa kasalukuyan, laganap sa mundo ang sistema ng kalakalan, kung saan nagbebentahan ng iba’t ibang produkto o serbisyo ang iba’t ibang tao, samahan o maging bansa, para sila tumubo. Sa kalakalang ito, malaki ang papel ng kalikasan. Paano? Ang komposisyon ng lahat ng kalakal sa daigdig ay mula sa dalawang elemento :

1. Ang materyal na galing sa kalikasan,

2. At ang paggawang galing sa tao. Sa pangkalahatan, ang unamateryal na galing sa kalikasan ay libre at walang “halaga sa pera”. Ang ikalawapaggawang galing sa tao ay may “bayad” at ito ang nagbibigay ng halaga sa mga kalakal. Magbigay

Ok  para maintindihan, magbigay tayo ng mga halimbawa.:

Ang isda na galing sa dagat ay libre. Ang binayaran ay ang paggagawa ng mga  mangingisda. Ang kahoy na ginamit sa bangka ay libre galing sa gubat. Ang binayaran ay ang paggawa nang pumutol ng kahoy at gumawa ng bangka. Kaya’t papasok sa presyo ng isda hindi lang ang paggawa ng mangingisda kundi ang porsyon ng paggawang nagamit para sa kanyang mga kasangkapan sa pangingisda.

Libre ang materyales ng dyamante na walang sangkap ng paggawa ng tao. Ang binayaran ay ang paggawa at panahon ng minero para hanapin ito at hukayin sa kailaliman ng lupa, at ang paggawang nakapaloob sa mga kasangkapan at prosesong ginamit sa dyamante. Halimbawa, kung ginamitan ito ng makinarya, ang binarayan sa makinarya ay ang paggawa nito at hindi ang mga sangkap ng bakal na hindi gawa ng taoat galing sa kalikasan sa kanyang natural na porma. Kung ginamitan ng kemikal ang paglinang ng dyamante, ang binayaran ay ang paggamit ng kemikal at hindi ang sangkap na galing sa kalikasan.

Isa pang halimbawa ang mineral water. Libre ang inuming tubig mula sa kalikasan, ngunit kapag inilagay na ito sa boteng plastik at inilako na, ito’y may bayad. Ang binayaran dito ay ang paggawa, mula sa pagkuha ng tubig sa kalikasan, transportasyon, proseso at paglalagay sa boteng plastik, at ang paglalako ng mineral water.

Sa madaling salita, anumang mula sa kalikasan na ginagamit natin ngayon at binabayaran ay dahil sa paggawa ng tao. Ang ginawa ng tao, sa proseso ng produksyon, ay baguhin ang porma ng materyales na galing sa kalikasan at gawin itong produktong may kabuluhan sa pamamagitan ng paggawa.

Kaya kung aanalisahin natin ang materyales mula sa kalikasan, ang matitirang laman ng kalakal ay ang paggawa ng tao. Kaya napakahalaga ng manggagawa sa pag-iral ng ating lipunan ngayon. Sila ang bumubuhay sa lipunan. Sinasabi nga sa Konstitusyon, ang manggagawa ang pangunahing pwersa sa ekonomya ng bansa.

Ngunit dapat nating bigyang diin na hindi ang paggawa ang dahilan ng unti-unting pagkawasak ng kalikasan, kundi ang pagkuha ng materyales mula sa kalikasan upang pagtubuan at pagkakitaan.

At dahil ang Kalikasan at ang Pag-gawa ang dalawang kambal na elemento na nagpapatakbo sa lipunan, dapat na kilalanin ng mga environmental advocates ang mga manggagawa at ang paggawa, gayundin ang mga manggagawa ay kilalanin ang kahalagahan ng kalikasan at ng mga nangangampanya para protektahan ito.

Ang pagprotekta sa kalikasan ay hindi madaling gawin. Kailangan natin itong pag-isipan at pag-aralan.

Hindi sapat na maunawaan lang  natin kung paano nasisira ang kalikasan.

Hindi simpleng itapon lang natin sa basurahan ang balat ng kendi ay ayos na. pagkat baka naman naihahalo ang nabubulok sa di nabubulok.

Kung ang lahat ng ito ay hindi makukuha sa isang tulugan lamang.    Dapat ang pakikibaka ay tuloy-tuloy, di dapat kalimutan,  ang ganitong mga adhikain  ito ay hindi isang piknik, ang pag-aaral hinggil sa proteksyon ng kalikasan ay hindi katulad ngh pagbabasa ng komiks. Dapat itong  isapuso at  isa-isip at isagawa.

Tulad din ng pagprotekta sa manggagawa, hindi lamang dapat ianunsyo na pinagsasamantalahan sila ng mga kapitalista. Dapat ding ipakita kung paanong sa walong oras nilang pagtatrabaho, hindi kumpletong bababayaran ng kapitalista ang walong oras na paggawa, dahil karaniwan, malaki na ang apat na oras na paggawa ay bayad na ang manggagawa, at ang natitirang oras bawat araw ay libre na.

Ang panghuli kasamang Leny,   ating pag-isipan:

1.  Anong klaseng kalikasan, kapaligiran, at sistema ng lipunan ang ating ipamamana sa susunod na henerasyon kung wala tayong gagawin ngayon upang protektahan ito?

2.   Nais ba nating wasak na kapaligiran ang ating ipamana sa kanila?

3.  Kong hindi……. Nawa’y isapuso natin ang awiting “Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran” ng bandang ASIN na siyang itinuturing na theme song ng mga mapagmahal saating se\gment na bantay kalikasan.

Very well written, I completely agree. People have been negligent, and thus nature is being destroyed. The rivers were once clean, clear… forests lush with plants and life… but what has happened now? Everyone should open their eyes and look around at what is currently happening. More should be aware of the situation we are in, and also that more serious consequences will occur in the future if no action is taken.
